After working as a Forester on the coast and interior of BC, I started teaching Forestry Technology at Selkirk College in 1991. I have also been the Chair of the School of Environment and Geomatics (SEG) and Student Access and Support. I also had the pleasure of working as a Project Manager on a number of international development projects in Vietnam (1996-2004) working on forestry and agriculture education projects and in Suriname (2013-2016) supporting the development of a program in Gerontological Nursing. After 18 wonderful years of teaching and time as Chair I began working for the College as a Dean in 2009. My responsibilities have included SEG, Kootenay School and the Arts, the Dean Health and Human Services and Applied Research and Innovation and continue to be the Vice President, Education.
I have had the privilege to represent the College in many different ways in the Region and beyond. The motivation to work at the College has always come from the inspiration of supporting students to be successful and doing so as a member of a team of faculty and staff. I am also motivated by my love of the region and the success and happiness of the communities and people who live here.
