I graduated from UBC with a degree in Forest Resource Management in 1987. I have been a Registered Professional Forester since 1989. I have worked for Macmillan Bloedel, Weyerhaueser Canada, Western Forest Products, and Slocan Forest Products, travelling and working in the length and breadth of the BC coast and interior. I have also worked as a tree planter and commercial fisher.
I have worked at Selkirk College since 1991. I have taught courses in Silviculture, Ecology, Botany, and Forest Policy. I also manage International Development Projects in North Vietnam. I am the past Department Head of the Renewable Resources department (now Environment & Geomatics) and past Chair and now executive member of the Southern Interior Silviculture Committee.
