Selkirk College, Attn: Mallory Attorp
820 Tenth Street, Nelson BC, V1L 3C7, Canada
Mallory Attorp was an award winning student of Selkirk College. She came to the Tenth Street Campus with a great understanding of the hospitality industry; having worked in a mix of high-end resorts, restaurants and night clubs - the Resort and Hotel Management program was a very natural step. While taking the RHOT program she and two of her classmates won first place in the province-wide BC Hospitality Case Study Competition.
After completing the Resort and Hotel Management program she went on to work at Whistler Cooks, the Sea to Sky Region's premiere catering company. In her 10 years with Whistler Cooks, she worked with a knowledgeable team to host many large events including the 2010 Winter Games (catering and concessions), Ironman Canada, multiple music festivals, weddings and much more. During her time with this company, which she considers a continuation of her education, she became well-versed in all aspects of the industry: sales, marketing, food and beverage service and human resources.
Mallory is returning to Selkirk College to share her experience and knowledge with the industry professionals of the future.
