On March 3, 2016 the world awoke to the serious human rights atrocities happening in Honduras as a result of the assassination of prominent indigenous, environmental and human rights defender, Berta Cáceres, winner of the 2015 Goldman Environmental Prize.
On June 4 to 12, 2016, Mir Centre for Peace Continuing Education Coordinator, Cara-Lee Malange participated in an educational tour to Honduras examining the human rights violations carried out by the Honduran state on behalf of domestic and foreign corporations, including Canadian corporations.
