Join scholar, activist and advocate David Ragland, assistant profession at Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, as he brings his hard message about police killings and violence in American communities to the West Kootenay.
Since the police killings of Michael Brown, Eric Garner and others, Ferguson protesters have sparked a brazen, but nonviolent movement for Black lives that calls out to the American public to recognize its complicity as spoken in the chant: “the whole damn system is guilty as hell.” If America is to learn, it must listen to and take direction from the truths told by the folks on the street. Scholar, activist and advocate David Ragland, assistant profession at Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, will bring home the hard message about police killings and violence in American communities and what can be done through peace education and holistic grassroots healing.
