Dr. Evan Tlesla II Adams is a Coast Salish actor and physician from the Tla’amin First Nation near Powell River, BC. Selkirk College is pleased to host Evan on March 7 for a FREE lecture at Mary Hall, Tenth Street Campus in Nelson.
Two Eyed Seeing: Implementing the TRC Calls to Action in Health Care
Evan has completed a Medical Doctorate from the University of Calgary in 2002, and a residency in the Aboriginal Family Practice program at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, BC. Evan has a Masters of Public Health (2009) from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. He is currently the Chief Medical Officer of the First Nations Health Authority. Evan starred as Thomas Builds the Fire in Smoke Signals, written by Sherman Alexie and directed by Chris Eyre.
