Selkirk College is working with Nelson CARES Society and Castlegar and District Community Service as they host the fourth-annual Coldest Night of the Year, a family-friendly walking fundraising event happening in communities across the country.
At the heart of the event is recognizing the importance of sustainable, affordable living by addressing homelessness.
Last year, Selkirk College Nursing Program students in their third year helped organize the Nelson event and their team of walkers raised the top team amount in Canada. The Selkirk College Faculty Association also formed a team while many other people connected to the college participated. Several teams are already signed up this year!
For the first time this year, the Coldest Night of the Year will be held in Castlegar.
Join Selkirk College on February 24 starting with registration at 4 p.m. at either the Castlegar United Church or in Nelson at the Wildflower School.
