The 50th Anniversary Student Legacy Award
As part of Selkirk College’s 50th anniversary celebrations, a goal has been set to raise $50,000 for student scholarships and bursaries. This fundraising endeavor provides vital financial aid for future generations of students as the college’s legacy continues. Our community is made up of three generations of Selkirk College graduates with generations more to come.
Journeys Taken, a Commemorative Book
To mark Selkirk College’s 50 years of inspiring education in the West Kootenay and Boundary region, the commemorative coffee table book Journeys Taken: Selkirk College - The First 50 Years traces the tremendous post-secondary legacy that has been built by students, staff and community. Packed with history, individual stories and photographs from through the years, Journeys Taken is a beautifully designed volume that will be a cherished keepsake in your home.
Not only will you have the opportunity to bring home this wonderful conversation piece, purchase of the book means you are helping future students achieve their educational dreams. The book retails for $40 and will be available to staff/students for $30.
All proceeds from the sale of Journeys Taken will go towards the Selkirk College 50th Anniversary Legacy Fund that aims to raise $50,000 for student awards in the next 50 years.
Journeys Taken is on sale at the Castlegar Campus Bookstore (open Monday to Friday 8:30 to 3 p.m.) and other Selkirk College learning centres. Journeys Taken is also available at Otter Books in Nelson.
More Ways to Donate
Beyond our current campaign, giving takes many forms and we will work with you to find a way that is seamless for you. The majority of gifts are in the form of cash but each year the college receives numerous gifts-in-kind, such as books, equipment, equities, media and works of art. Selkirk College also appreciates the gift of your time. Read Ways to Donate for more information.
